SEARCY -- Two future Division I track and field athletes from Fayetteville High School secured victories in state high school decathlon and heptathlon competitions on the campus of Harding University on Thursday.

Ava Goetz won the heptathlon for the second consecutive year with a score of 4,626 points. In the decathlon, Cooper Williams pulled off a dominant win with a score of 7,046 points.

Goetz topped second-place finisher, first-day leader Mikaela Miller (4,402)of Lake Hamilton by more than 200 points. Kenzie Pruett of Cabot (4,401), Paisley Hight of Bentonville (4,292) and KJ-Keirstin Moore of Yellville-Summit (4,143) rounded out the top-five finishers.
