Payton Willis matched his own school-record, hitting 8-of-11 3-pointers and scored a career-high 33 points to lead Fayetteville to a double-digit win over a Southside team coming off a win over a Malik Monk-less Bentonville.

Southside (9-6, 1-1) led 14-11 early, but Willis sparked a Fayetteville run with a 3-pointer and a dunk to help the Bulldogs build a 38-25 lead by halftime.

He hit five 3-pointers in the second half as Fayetteville (13-2, 2-0) stretched its lead to as much as 19 and cruised to the victory.

"It doesn't surprise me what he does," Fayetteville coach Kyle Adams said. "If he needs to score, he's going to score. And then the other day at Northside, they were taking it out of his hands. He was giving it up. He just does what he needs to do. That's why he's a winner."

Forwards Josh Breathitt and August Carlson each added 10 points for Fayetteville. Seth Hawley scored a team-high 19 for Southside, which shot 39 percent.

Fayetteville will play at Springdale High on Friday.
