The Purple'Dogs grabbed a second inning lead and pounded 15 hits to remain atop the 7A-West standings Tuesday.

Fayetteville (15-12, 10-2 7A-West) starter Hays Cox (5-2) went the distance to earn the win, allowing four hits with seven strikeouts. Andrew Roach took the loss for Springdale, allowing 15 hits with five strikeouts.

Jackson Sloan led the Purple'Dogs' offense with a two-run home run that gave them the lead for good in the second inning. Jeff Sinacore was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Emory Kincaid was also 3-for-3 with a double. Logan Carr was 3-for-4, and Cody Smith added a double.

Michael Harrington doubled to lead Springdale (12-13, 4-8), which plated its lone run when Andrew Roach hit a lead-off single and later was driven in by Ryne Whitaker in the first inning.
