The Fayetteville Lady Purple Bulldogs kept a tight grip on second place in the 7A-West Conference with a 4-0 win over Rogers Heritage on Tuesday night at Gates Stadium.

Freshman forward Georgia Templeton scored two goals, while Abby Vaught added a goal and an assist for the Lady Purple'Dogs. Freshman Morganne Browning also chipped in two assists as Fayetteville led 2-0 at halftime and added two more goals in the second half.

Fayetteville coach Joe Thoma said he wants to see his team get in playoff mode, and the Lady Purple'Dogs looked the part against Heritage.

"Our pregame things was let's treat this like a playoff game," Thoma said. "We want to get in playoff mode. We want to get in a thing, let's score score goals. Let's defend smart and no dumb things. Every game's a big game now. We just want to take care of business. We're playing good, and we want to make people chase us a little bit.

Heritage keeper Micayla Faught turned Fayetteville away early, but Vaught got them on the board with 28 minutes, 30 seconds left before halftime. Six minutes later, Myra Tubb took a cross from Browning to make it 2-0 Fayetteville.

Templeton scored twice in the second half, one coming off a corner kick by Vaught, then added another late.
