Fayetteville makes the trip for the final nonconference game of the year to take on undefeated Bishop Dunne. The Purple Dogs have opened the season with two straight victories over Blue Springs High School and Bryant High School. During the first week of the season, Blue Springs put a scare in Fayetteville in a game that Fayetteville won 26-21. The Purple Dogs had an easier time against Bryant. Fayetteville was able to grab the lead and not look back in the, winning 43-10.

Bishop Dunne comes into Friday having won two straight blowouts on the road. During the first week of the season, the Falcons defeated Deer Park 45-24 and the following week defeated Trinity Christian 56-14. Quarterback Stacy Conner has been impressive in each of the past two games. The Fayetteville defense will need to be watching out for Jordan Butler at the running back spot for Bishop Dunne. Butler is averaging a little over 6 yards per carry and has found the end zone three times over the past two games.

Fayetteville has a number of weapons that the Purple Dogs will look to get going against Bishop Dunne. Quarterback Taylor Powell has had an excellent career at Fayetteville and is looking to continue to put impressive numbers this week. Bishop Dunne will need to watch out for Powell’s ability to escape the pocket and do damage with his legs. Powell passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more against Bryant High School a week ago.

Both the Fayetteville and Bishop Dunne defenses will likely be tested in the game Friday. The Purple Dogs and the Falcons should expect this game to go into the fourth quarter. Both teams are very talented and this should be an exciting game for the fans to watch.
